General Update - Friday, April 16, 2021

7:01 a.m. - Craig found Joyce on the toilet, bowel movement passed.

7:16 a.m. - Joyce returned to recliner. Blood oxygen level at 97%, pulse 81.

12:46 p.m. - Dusty arrived to farmhouse, found Joyce asleep in recliner with oxygen line in place.

12:50 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence. Remnants of bowel movement on Joyce (didn't self-clean well). Skirt changed. Diaper and pad replaced. Early bladder release. Shoes sanitized. Bathroom floor and toilet seat riser sanitized.

1:26 p.m. - Visit with Bridget Johnson (Family Resource Home Care). Carol, Connie, Dusty, and Joyce reviewed options for service.

2:20 p.m. - BP 142/73, pulse 74. BGL @ 119. O2 @ 97%.

2:25 p.m. - Lunch medication administered with water.

2:30 p.m. - Lunch (chicken noodle soup, butterscotch pudding, diced peaches, lemon pasta). 

Dusty departed farmhouse to return to work, leaving Joyce eating lunch.

5:43 p.m. - Dusty returned to farmhouse, finding Joyce in bathroom. Bowel movement passed (type 3/type 4). New diaper and pad. Joyce made mess with fecal matter while attempting to self clean. Bathroom sanitized. PT walk before returning to recliner.

Lunch had been abandoned by Joyce - all food but lemon pasta eaten.

6 p.m. - Dusty cleaned and trimmed Joyce's fingernails. Joyce began napping hard afterward.

7:42 p.m. - Joyce woke suddenly and asked to go the bathroom and have a peanut butter sandwich for dinner.

7:45 p.m. - Bathroom. Urinary incontinence. Diaper and diaper pad insert replaced. Remainder of urine passed. Joyce complained about "nightmare camp" after yelling out while sitting on toilet - Joyce was apparently disturbed by a nightmare she had while recently napping. Joyce babbled for a bit about "taking care of vets" and how she bet Dusty "...never expected to have to do that for [his] job." PT walk - very slow, Joyce reported pain in both her hips while walking and took frequent stops. Returned to recliner by 7:59 p.m.

8:04 p.m. - BP 157/78, pulse 76. O2 @ 95%. BGL @ 200. Temperature 97.1 degrees Fahrenheit. Evening medications administered with water.

8:09 p.m. - Dinner (peanut butter sandwich with strawberry jam, diced peaches, baby bell cheese wheel).

9 p.m. - Craig stopped by to visit Joyce on his way home.

9:13 p.m. - Bathroom trip without incident. Remainder of urine passed. Joyce reporting that her hips are still hurting. PT walk declined due to hip pain. Returned to recliner.

9:30 p.m. - Ready for bed. Legs elevated. O2 @ 94%. BP 126/63, pulse 74.

Connie reported Joyce had diarrhea yesterday - per directions from health care providers, Dusty is pausing administration of Meformin and Miralax. Metformin removed from morning medication cups. Will be added in 24-48 hours after diarrhea ceases to be reported (resuming Sunday/Monday).

Tramadol running low and was re-ordered by Dusty. Walmart Pharmacy estimates it to be ready for pickup on Sunday or Monday.

Mouse spotted in entry hallway by Bridget on her way out of the farmhouse. Dusty redeployed the set traps.

Carol informed Dusty that Tylenol was ineffective for Joyce in previous years - is it doing anything for her now? Dusty added this information to list of questions and items to discuss with Dr. Collins at next Thursday's appointment for Joyce.

Subaru back at farm - Dusty's Jeep repaired and retrieved.
