5:47 p.m. - Nurse's aide arrived to take Joyce's blood sugar level. Reading was 168. Joyce asked if that was good or bad and nurse's aide said "That's pretty high." Joyce's blood oxygen levels at 94%. After nurse's aide departed, Joyce asked if she had ordered prune juice. Dusty stated she had not. Joyce said she had been dreaming about it. Dusty let Joyce know he would ask room service for some prune juice when they brought her the broth and half banana, or that he would ask nurse Becky to bring some if she arrived before the room service hostess did.  5:59 p.m. - Becky returned to check in on Joyce. Dusty relayed that Joyce wanted prune juice. Becky thought that was a good idea.  6:01 p.m. - Joyce asked Dusty to inform her on what is going to happen to her tomorrow. Dusty reviewed plan that Dr. Keizur laid out for tomorrow. Joyce pressed call button to go to the bathroom soon afterward. Bed pad and diapers were changed due to incontinence issue. Nurs...

Joyce's breakfast was delivered at 8:12 a.m. She enjoyed biscuits with sausage gravy and scrambled eggs. Tea and tomato juice accompanied as beverage choices.  Nurse stopped by to check on Joyce's pain levels at 8:44 a.m. Joyce responded that she was experiencing pain in her back. Nurse departed to obtain pain medication (hydrocodone) and other pills (iron supplement, Vitamin C, multivitamin, etc.) for Joyce. Joyce reported her pain level a 6 out of 10 at time of pill ingestion at 8:48 a.m. Nurse also administered insulin to Joyce at that time.  Nurse verified that room phone number is functional and people are free to call to speak with Joyce. A Dr. Brown (female) arrived to check in with Joyce around 8:15 a.m., reviewing basic information (medications, allergies, reasons for home oxygen use, history of cancer, and other previous medical conditions). Dr. Brown had Joyce roll over slightly in the hospital bed to permit inspection of her back. Dr. Brown asked Joyce if anyone on the hospital staff had informed Joyce that they suspect the spinal fracture was a pathological fracture (decay of the bone caused by cancer). Joyce stated that they had not told her that yet. Dr. Brown is intending to reach out to the orthopaedic surgeons (branch of surgery concerned with the musculoskeletal system) and mom's primary care physician (Dr. Deborah Collins at Moscow Medical) to determine how to proceed with the hypothesis and treatment plan. Dr. Brown will check back in with Joyce and/or Dusty (who is currently on-site in the room with Joyce) once she hears back from both the orthopaedic surgeons and Dr. Collins. Blood samples col...
