General Update #315 - Sunday, February 21, 2021
8:12 a.m. - Dusty arrived to farmhouse. All lights off in the kitchen and recliner empty. Dusty could not initially locate Joyce. Joyce found in bathroom, in the dark, and had pulled her walker all the way into bathroom behind her and out of line of sight when Dusty walked down hallway looking for her in her bedroom and living room. Joyce semi-conscious, appearing to have half fallen asleep on toilet in processing passing a bowel movement and/or self-clean up. Joyce had soiled herself in her recliner and taken herself into the bathroom, but could not recall how long she had been in there.
Recliner cover replaced. Disposable pad replaced.
Remainder of type 5 bowel movement and urine passed. Shoes and bathroom sanitized. Joyce showered. Joyce whimpering and yelping as she sat/moved/stood/walked, citing pain in her left knee.
Weight 160.4 lbs.
PT walk attempted then aborted due to pain in Joyce's left knee, returned to recliner by 9 a.m.
9:02 a.m. - BP 181/87, pulse 74. BGL @ 134. Breakfast declined.
9:10 a.m. - Morning medication administered with nutritional shake.
9:19 a.m. - Breakfast (maple bar, whole banana, Baby Bell cheese wheel).
10:14 a.m. - Bathroom trip. Joyce soiled herself (type 5/ bowel movement). Remainder of bowel movement (type 6) passed. Dusty cleaned Joyce up using disposable washcloths and waterless soap as Joyce adamantly refused to be showered again today. Barrier cream applied to open pressure sore on right buttock.
PT walk declined, returned to recliner by 10:40 a.m. Joyce resumed napping.
11:38 a.m. - BP 132/67, pulse 68. BGL @ 246.
11:41 a.m. - Lunch (hamburger with ketchup, sugar-free Jell-O cup, whole banana, V8 juice). 2 Tylenol, cranberry supplement. Joyce ate extremely slowly and kept falling asleep throughout.
12:20 p.m. - Connie, Zac, Nicole, and baby MJ arrived to farmhouse for visit. Lunch paused. Connie, Zac, Nicole, and baby MJ departed ~1:22 p.m. Joyce refused to finish her lunch.
1:30 p.m. - Joyce refused to resume lunch.
1:45 p.m. - Joyce refused to resume lunch - abandoned following Joyce becoming irritated at Dusty attempting to get her to finish eating. Joyce had only eaten one bite of her hamburger, 3/4 of the banana, and eventually ate her Jell-O cup and drank the other half of her V8 juice.
Joyce began napping, citing fatigue.
3:17 p.m. - Joyce woke herself up and was very concerned about who had broken off the icicles hanging from the patio's roofline. Dusty assured her that they had melted off on their own. Joyce disappointed that 3/4 of them were gone as they had been very enjoyable for her to look at.
3:26 p.m. - Debra (Kindred) called Dusty's cellphone to inform him she plans to arrive tomorrow ~11:30 a.m. to perform a weekly review of Joyce. Debra asked about the status of Joyce's open wound on her buttock, Dusty confirmed that it is still being treated by family care providers. Debra will call Dusty again tomorrow morning before arriving to farmhouse to confirm that Joyce has not been delayed in returning out there from her morning lab work and CT scans at Gritman.
Joyce resumed napping.
4:43 p.m. - Joyce woke herself up from napping. Joyce thought that Dusty had not gone home last night and became concerned that she had slept through the whole day. Joyce did not remember anything which occurred today, including visit from Connie, Zac, Nichole and MJ. Joyce resumed napping off and on.
5:11 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence, remainder of urine passed. Diaper and diaper pad insert replaced.
Craig arrived to farmhouse to visit while Joyce was using bathroom, shoveled snow from patio in preparation for moving Joyce to Subaru tomorrow morning.
6:44 p.m. - BP 136/83, pulse 68. BGL @ 119.
7:09 p.m. - Evening medication with nutritional shake.
7:13 p.m. - Dinner (Salisbury steak, mac & cheese, biscuit with butter). Joyce kept falling asleep throughout her meal. Dinner finished by 8:20 p.m.
8:23 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence, remainder of urine passed. Diaper pad insert replaced. PT walk declined, citing fatigue.
Dusty departing farmhouse ~ 8:40 p.m., returning early tomorrow morning (~6 a.m.) to prep Joyce for her laboratory work and CT scan at Gritman Medical Center at 8 a.m.

No family care providers confirmed coverage on Joyce's care calendar for this afternoon. Dusty canceled his afternoon meetings and remained at farmhouse to ensure Joyce was cared for in afternoon evening shifts.
Joyce's left knee bothered her throughout the morning hours and into early afternoon before she confirmed it abated. Dusty suspecting she irritated it while attempting to remove soiled skirt and diaper or twisting about in cleanup process in bathroom before Dusty arrived on-site at 8:12 a.m.
