General Update #257 - Saturday, December 26, 2020

9:15 a.m. - Dusty and Jess arrived to farmhouse, finding Joyce asleep in her recliner without oxygen line in place. Hallways lights had been turned off. Evidence found that Joyce had taken herself to the bathroom at least twice since Jess and Dusty departed the night before (had used up 2 diapers and diaper pad inserts).

9:26 a.m. - BP 165/77, pulse 69. BGL @122.

9:29 a.m. - Breakfast (2 small cinnamon rolls, 1 small Cutie orange, nutritional shake). Morning medication. Joyce unable to eat the orange due to toughness of membrane and poor condition of her teeth. Dutch Bros. (12 oz. Christmas Morning beverage Jess brought out for her). 

10:16 a.m. - Craig arrived to the farmhouse to read the newspaper and visit Joyce.

10:17 a.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence. Remainder of urine passed. Hemorrhoids treated. PT walk to living room. 

Dusty and Craig began a discussion related to a Daily News article title. Craig departed farmhouse ~10:50 a.m. Joyce expressed dissatisfaction that Dusty and Craig had been arguing as it upset her. Joyce declared that she wants to set a rule that people cannot leave the farmhouse unhappy. Dusty and Jess reassured Joyce that the arguing wasn't personal and that Craig was just stressed at something else and set her to ease. Joyce began napping around 11:15 a.m.

~1:45 p.m. - Joyce woke from her nap.

2 p.m. - Enrichment activity (laundry folding).

2:33 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence requiring diaper and diaper pad replacement. Remainder of urine passed. Preparation H applied. PT walk to living room, Joyce experiencing pain in her right leg as she walked - groaning with each step and having to make several stops. Joyce returned to recliner by 2:42 p.m.

2:45 p.m. - Lunch (potato salad, peaches, Jell-O fruit salad, turkey). 2 Tylenol. Joyce praised the potato salad that Carol made for her yesterday and was so happy that Carol had left them as leftovers for Joyce to enjoy. Lunch finished by 3:11 p.m. Joyce requested slice of cheesecake for dessert. Cheesecake finished by 3:18 p.m.

Dusty returned to farmhouse ~5:15 p.m. after returning Jess to Moscow, found Joyce awake in her recliner, working on her new coloring book Christy gave to her yesterday, without oxygen line in place.

6 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined, dinner declined. Coloring continued.

6:30 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined, dinner declined. Coloring continued.

7 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined, dinner declined, Coloring continued.

7:28 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence. Diaper pad insert replaced. Remainder of urine passed. Preparation H applied. PT walk - Joyce had difficulty walking, reporting pain in left knee and right shin.

7:39 p.m. - BP 176/83, pulse 70. BGL @ 125.

7:43 p.m. - Dinner (leftover lasagna, peaches, dinner roll with butter, nutritional shake). Evening medication. Dinner finished by 8:18 p.m. Joyce requested slice of cheese cake for dessert. Cheese cake slice finished by 8:30 p.m.

9:33 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip, made ready for bed.

9:35 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence. Diaper pad insert replaced. Urine passed. Preparation H applied. PT walk - no pain reported while walking this time around.

9:42 p.m. - Joyce returned to recliner and made ready for sleep. Dusty departing farmhouse ~9:50 p.m.

Joyce requested that as family members visit her, they explain the photos in the digital photo frame that the shared as part of their holiday homework Connie assigned them. Joyce would like to know the context for some of them and/or she cannot make out everyone in the pictures that are displayed as they cycle through and would like family members who stop by to visit with her.
