General Update #261 - Wednesday, December 30, 2020 (Updated)
Craig called Dusty ~8:56 a.m. to confirm who is providing morning care for Joyce as no one was present at farmhouse when he arrived. Dusty confirmed he was on his way out after having to administer migraine treatments to Jess and clear his Jeep of snowfall.
9:34 a.m. - Dusty arrived to farmhouse, found Joyce awake in her recliner without oxygen line in place. Joyce had foraged for breakfast and was working on eating her way through 2 cinnamon rolls, a banana, chocolate peanut clusters (peanuts spat out) and gummy orange slices. Morning medication administered by Dusty. Joyce began napping after breakfast completed ~10 a.m.
12:40 p.m. - Joyce woke herself up from napping.
12:46 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urinary incontinence. Diaper pad insert replaced. Remainder of urine passed. Preparation H applied to treat hemorrhoid. PT walk to living room - Joyce lost balance while using walker but was able to recover after falling into hallway door frame. Joyce stated that she lost her balance because she "was not quite awake enough yet." Joyce returned to recliner by 1 p.m.
1:10 p.m. - Lunch (turkey sandwich with cheese and mayonnaise, potato salad, nutritional shake). 2 Tylenol. All food consumed except for portions of bread crust and pickles and onions picked out from potato salad. Lunch finished around 1:40 p.m., napping resumed.
3:27 p.m. - Bathroom trip without incident. Urine passed. Hemorrhoids treated with Preparation H. PT walk to living room, difficulty walking. Returned to recliner by 3:33 p.m.
3:36 p.m. - Small can of Diet Pepsi given to Joyce at her request to help her "fight off the sleepiness."
Latah County grader passed farmhouse ~3:37 p.m., clearing snow from Estes Road.
Dusty departing farmhouse ~3:45 p.m. to return to Moscow.
Carol arriving to provide evening care for Joyce.
6:30 p.m. - Dinner (soup, 1/2 breadstick). Evening medication.
8:30 p.m. - Ready for bed.
