General Update #199 - October 28, 2020
7:36 a.m. - Dusty arrived to find Joyce already in the bathroom and Craig already on site. Craig reported that he had arrived a few minutes before Dusty and found Joyce on her way to the bathroom on her own. Joyce had minor urinary incontinence requiring diaper pad insert replacement. Joyce passed urine and returned to kitchen under her own power ~7:55 a.m. Craig departed farmhouse ~8 a.m.
8:09 a.m. - Vitals taken after Dusty prepared breakfast. BP 152/83, pulse 87. BGL @ 126.
8:12 a.m. - Breakfast (1/2 toasted peanut butter, nutella, and banana slices on whole wheat sandwich with 1/2 banana).
8:19 a.m. - Scam phone call to farmhouse landline intercepted by Dusty.
~9 a.m. - Morning medication (carvedilol, metformin, 2 Tylenol, multivitamin, iron, potassium) taken and nutritional shake finished.
~9:20 a.m. Dusty departed farmhouse for appointment in Colfax, leaving Joyce reading today's newspaper and new magazine that came in the mail. Returned ~12:45 p.m. Found Joyce asleep in her blue chair without oxygen line in place.
12:50 p.m. - Bathroom. Minor urinary incontinence requiring diaper pad insert change. Urine passed. Joyce returned to blue chair under her own power ~1:05 p.m. Joyce wanted to do PT walk but she staggered leaving the bathroom so Dusty recommended they skip it this trip.
~1:10 p.m. Joyce declined lunch, citing fatigue. Resumed sleeping.
2 p.m. - Joyce declined lunch, citing fatigue and lack of appetite. Declined bathroom trip. Resumed sleeping.
~2:15 p.m. - Bathroom trip without incident. Urine passed. Joyce asked Dusty if he knew why she wiped down the sink with her paper towel after drying her hands. Dusty said that he did not know and Joyce then said she did not know why she does it but that she does it and wanted to know why she was compelled to do it. PT walk for Joyce following toileting to living room and back to kitchen, choosing to sit into blue chair. Joyce requested change of clothing (clean skirt and top). Joyce declined lunch.
2:55 p.m. - Dusty negotiated with Joyce for her to have a snack (1/2 banana). 2 Tylenol for pain relief. Joyce setup to color in her coloring book at her request.
4:22 p.m. - Joyce expressed concern over who had been coloring in her coloring book. Dusty assured her that it was probably her coloring in her coloring book and no one else. Joyce remained skeptical.
4:45 p.m. - Bathroom. Urine passed. PT walk to living room.
5:09 p.m. - Wendy (Dr. Collins' assistant from Moscow Medical) called Dusty's cellphone in regard to the wheelchair order for Joyce. Confusion in regard to Hospice/NW Respiratory and their interpretations of Dr. Collin's notes about hospice care were sorted out and Wendy will visit with Dr. Collins tomorrow morning and get things moving forward again with the wheelchair order for Joyce.
Dusty departing farmhouse ~5:20 p.m., returning tomorrow ~8 a.m.
Carol arriving ~5:30 p.m. to provide evening care for Joyce.
