General Update #147
Joyce halted process of trying to get her cleaned up ~9:28 a.m., citing discomfort (obvious) and expressed she was unable to stand. Requested time to sit in chair and sleep. Joyce's legs are showing signs of swelling. Jess said that they would put on Joyce's compression socks post-showering (once that occurred).
Jess asked Joyce about her hunching behavior in the recliner, asking if Joyce was in pain. Joyce confirmed she was in pain. Jess asked Joyce to point to a spot on Jess' back where Joyce was experiencing the pain and Joyce indicated the mid-thoracic area roughly higher than where the lidocaine patch was placed by the Aspen Park team yesterday. Dusty and Jess confirmed with Joyce they would get today's lidocaine patch into place post-showering and that should help with pain mitigation.
Joyce currently resting her her recliner under blanket. Joyce likes to tuck a pillow next to her right thigh (between thigh and chair arm). Joyce currently has been convinced by Jess to lean back in a more upright position and is resting with her chin against her chest. Jess purposefully adjusted recliner further down than Joyce had wanted, ensuring that Joyce was not in pain, to help encourage Joyce to sit back in a better posture. This seems to have helped prevent Joyce from "rolling forward" into a hunched over position while resting in the recliner.
Jess and Dusty confirmed with Joyce they were not going anywhere and that she could take a nap.

Carol stopped by the farmhouse to visit with Jess and Dusty and recieved an update on current observations about Joyce. Briefly discussed plan for tomorrow's schedule for care of Joyce and what can be explored between Dusty, Jess, Carol and Connie's schedule for coverage. More to be worked out tomorrow once Connie is back in town and available to visit with.
