General Update #152
Dusty worked on university-related work items while Joyce slept. Joyce occasionally removed her oxygen tubing or pulled it out of alignment, requiring re-seating. Joyce remained sleeping in her recliner with some moments of intermittent wakefulness (caused by Dusty moving about the kitchen-area or nightmares) until Carol and Jess arrived to farmhouse ~12:47 p.m.
Carol checked in with Joyce as Dusty and Jess brought in supplies that Jess procured from Moscow. $91 and change remaining in envelope Joyce provided for supplies. Receipts placed into envelope.
Joyce expressed her concerns to Carol, Jess and Dusty that she did not think she needed to have people present around the clock as she stated that she had taken herself to the bathroom by herself this morning without assistance. Dusty and Jess explained to Joyce that the discharge orders for her to return home were with the understanding that Joyce would have as close to 24/7 care that the family could provide.
Carol expressed desire to clean/reorganize the farmhouse in preparation for the upcoming visit of the Kindred Home Health representative tomorrow. Dusty confirmed that could be undertaken, tomorrow was noted to be the initial assessment and they would certainly give them some directives as to recommendations on changes. Carol also updated Dusty that she'd spoken with a family friend (who has medical background) and stated Joyce should be taken to the bathroom every 1.5 hours regardless if she feels a need to go to aid with creating a regular toileting schedule to help reduce or eliminate incontinence issues.
Carol planning to return to farmhouse ~4 p.m. to cover evening care for Joyce when Dusty departs to travel to Camp Grizzly for his Potlatch units' Court of Honor.
Jess began making meatloaf for Joyce's dinner this evening and for family caregivers to serve throughout the week for meals for Joyce.
