General Update #174 - September 29, 2020

Dusty arrived at farmhouse ~7:45 a.m., found Joyce hunched over in her recliner without oxygen line. Joyce was roused with great difficulty and remained confused/disoriented. Dusty worked on breathing exercises with Joyce after getting her oxygen line into place but she was slow to recover. Joyce stated that she was unable to stand under her own power to get up and use the bathroom.

7:52 a.m. - Blood pressure 179/97, pulse 80. Blood glucose level 119.

8 a.m. - Breakfast (Vanilla Ensure, 1 slice whole wheat toast with butter and apricot jam, 1/2 banana). Morning medication (Carvedilol, Metformin, 2 Tylenol, Multivitamin, Iron, Potassium). Joyce finished picking at her breakfast ~10 a.m. Joyce continued to remove her oxygen line and remained confused/disoriented, stating she was unable to get up and go to the bathroom under her own power.

8:27 a.m. - Scam phone call to farmhouse landline intercepted by Dusty. 

10:49 a.m. - Scam phone call to farmhouse landline intercepted by Dusty.

Noon - Joyce stated that she felt like she would be able to go to the bathroom after lunch when Dusty attempted to get her to rise again. Dusty began preparing Joyce's lunch. Shortly afterward, Joyce announced she was soiling herself in the recliner, moving to stand with some difficulty. Dusty paused making Joyce's lunch and moved to assist. Joyce traveled to bathroom and Dusty assisted with cleanup. Joyce passed remainder of Type 6 bowel movement and urine. Joyce was showered afterward ~12:45 p.m., changed into fresh clothes and returned to her recliner ~1:15 p.m. (Joyce was unable to walk, Dusty wheeled her out to the kitchen by having her sit on her walker's seat). 

1:25 p.m. - Dusty finished making lunch and served it to Joyce (Chicken noodle soup, 1/2 banana, 1 hardboiled egg, V8 juice). 2 Tylenol provided for pain relief.

2:50 p.m. - Joyce requested to be allowed to nap.

3:07 p.m. - Farm Bureau Insurance representative (Rich) called asking if Joyce had received the mailer informing her that there was an option to purchase additional increase in coverage amount for Dusty's policy she purchased in the past (and increased in the past). Dusty declined on Joyce's behalf as they did not have funding to take them up on the offer. Farm Bureau representative gave his thanks and wished Joyce the best, reminding Dusty to call their office if anything is needed for Joyce's insurance needs.

4 p.m. - Joyce roused from napping to travel to bathroom. Urinary incontinence, changed her diaper pad insert, diaper and replaced disposable chair pad. Cleaned wounds and applied fresh barrier cream. Joyce returned to her recliner ~4:17 p.m., declining PT walk due to feeling weak.

Dusty departing farmhouse ~4:25 p.m. to return to Moscow to work at his office on campus and will return tomorrow ~8 a.m. Connie arriving to provide evening care for Joyce.
