November 1, 2020

Dusty arrived ~7:50 a.m., finding Joyce asleep in her recliner. Joyce was rolled forward into a ball-like position with forehead on her knees and without oxygen line in place. Joyce was roused with some difficulty. Joyce declined bathroom trip, stating that she had taken herself to the bathroom earlier in the morning. Joyce was confused why Dusty was changing the clocks around the house and he informed her they had not been corrected for Daylight Savings Time the night before. Joyce asked "if that was still a thing" and lamented losing an hour of the day, to which Dusty corrected her that they got an hour back and it was spring where they time traveled forward. Joyce cheered at that realization.

Dusty cleaned dried fecal matter from toilet riser, bathroom floor, and bathroom sink. Joyce apparently had soiled herself last night after family care provider departed or much earlier in morning prior to Dusty's arrival.

9 a.m. - Breakfast (1/2 banana, 1/2 maple bar, nutritional shake). Morning medication (Carvedilol, metformin, 2 Tylenol, multivitamin, iron, potassium).

9:30 a.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip.

10:18 a.m. - Bathroom. Evidence Joyce had soiled herself prior to Dusty's arrival to farmhouse confirmed. Chair mat, shoes, skirt, and compression stockings all coated with smeared in fecal material - Joyce had attempted to self-clean and hid the evidence (chair mat was flipped/folded over the fecal stains so she could sit back down onto recliner). Dusty stripped Joyce's soiled clothes after she passed urine and showered her. Shoes sanitized. Weight 158.6 lbs. Joyce was returned to kitchen ~11:38 a.m. Joyce opted to sit in the blue chair. Bathroom sanitized. Joyce began coloring before deciding to nap.

12:30 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip, resumed napping.

1 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip, resumed napping.

1:30 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip, resumed napping.

1:59 p.m. - Derik arrived to use farmhouse bathroom. Departed ~2:06 p.m., Dusty sanitized bathroom and door handles.

2:10 p.m. - Dusty departed for Moscow to get lunch and parts for Jeep.

2:45 p.m. - Dusty returned, lunch served (2 pieces of Rosauers chicken strips, 1~ cup of potato salad). Joyce stripped off the breading of the chicken strips and ate 3/4 of the chicken and all of her potato salad. Joyce began coloring as Dusty went outside to work on his Jeep.

3:15 p.m. - Dusty returned to check on Joyce. Joyce declined bathroom trip, began napping.

3:30 p.m. - Dusty returned to check on Joyce. Joyce declined bathroom trip, continued napping.

4 p.m. - Dusty departed for Moscow to get additional parts and tools needed for Jeep repair. Asked Joyce if she wanted to use the bathroom before he went to town and she declined. Dusty refilled her water cup.

4:30 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip, continued napping. Dusty returned to working on Jeep.

5 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip, resumed coloring. Returned to napping some time after Dusty went back outside to work on Jeep.

5:40 p.m. - Cleaned up spilled lunch tray that Joyce dumped across the living room floor accidentally while she was fidgeting with it (it was bothering her sitting on her table beside her blue chair). Kitchen carpet and rugs vacuumed by Dusty.

5:51 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Joyce was dry until she went to seat herself on the toilet riser and released her bladder early. Remainder of urine passed. Shoes, toilet seat riser, floor were sanitized by Dusty.

~6:03 p.m. - Joyce started returning to kitchen but halted and stated she wanted to go to her bedroom for "something she just thought of." Joyce would not tell Dusty what she was after and became annoyed he was following along behind her as she insisted it was something she could do by herself. Joyce began rummaging through her shelves and dresser drawers. Dusty asked if he could help her find what she was looking for and Joyce stated she was looking for cash she hid in her room. The search was fruitless, the places Joyce looked apparently had already been raided by Joyce at some time in the past. Joyce stated that she was uncertain how much cash she had in each of the places that she looked but as they were all empty she became concerned that someone had taken it from her. Dusty assured her that no one would have taken it from her as when Jess and Dusty cleaned her room in August, the dust was undisturbed throughout. Joyce thought that people might've taken the cash well before August. Dusty worked to calm Joyce down as her agitation at not finding any cash during her search increased. Dusty explained that he only knew one place where Joyce kept cash in her room and they verified that stash was still intact and hidden. Joyce confirmed that she wanted to leave that one in place. Joyce was still concerned about her "lack of cash" in her purse. Dusty reminded her that he gave him cash to purchase groceries with all last month and that she was not out of money. Joyce wanted to know if Dusty could go to the bank and get her more cash. Dusty reminded Joyce that the banks were closed on Sundays. Joyce confirmed she knew that after being reminded that today was Sunday. Joyce returned to the kitchen and opted to sit in the blue chair. Joyce asked for confirmation that there was no cash in her purse and went through it. Dusty pulled the remaining cash she had provided to him last week and gave it to her. Joyce asked Dusty to go to the bank again and Dusty reminded her it was Sunday and after 5 p.m. so both of those factors would equal a closed bank with no tellers. Dusty attempted to change the subject while Joyce attempted to make Dusty put the cash he had given her back into his errand envelope/cash bag. Joyce consented to Dusty placing the cash into her purse, leaving only the change in his errand envelope. Joyce remained concerned that she had no cash and was not sure how she would pay her bills. Dusty reminded her that Connie and Carol were managing her finances now so she didn't need to worry about money. Joyce became irritated that people were managing her finances and "in [her] business." Joyce demanded to know why Dusty allowed that to happen and why she hadn't been told. Dusty spent time walking Joyce through the finance issues she faced and what had gotten her to this point and that she was told about the family handling her finances now. Joyce threw her hands up in frustration, lamenting that she didn't recall any of it and felt like she was being tricked. Dusty continued to attempt changing the subject to help calm Joyce. Joyce eventually was distracted with conversation about her new shoes that Connie had purchased for her, falling into a looped conversation covering the same topics in sequence (how nice her new shoes are for walking; when she soils herself it's nice the new shoes can be cleaned easier and faster than her old slippers; how pretty her new shoes are on her; how long she wore her leather slippers during her stay at Aspen Park; how nice the carpet/rug looks now that its been vacuumed; its nice to have Dusty around to visit and "just be with" her) before agreeing that coloring would be fun.

6:20 p.m. - Joyce set up to color.

~6:32 p.m. - Joyce asked if the time changed today and Dusty confirmed. Joyce asked if the clocks had been changed in the kitchen and Dusty confirmed he changed all the functioning clocks in the farmhouse.

~7:15 p.m. - Dusty departed farmhouse to pickup oil and dinner for Joyce.

~7:30 p.m. - Dinner (McDonald's cheeseburger), 1 cup Diet Pepsi. Evening medication (Carvedilol, metformin, 2 Tylenol). Joyce watched NCIS with Dusty for a while and visited. Dusty showed a few of the pictures he had taken at the NW Museum of Arts and Culture yesterday with Jess as part of their anniversary adventures. Dusty returned to working on his Jeep after dinner.

8 p.m. - Joyce declined bathroom trip. Asked Dusty if the clocks have been set back and Dusty confirmed this has been done.

8:40 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined when Dusty came back into farmhouse from working on Jeep.

~9 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined when Dusty came back into farmhouse from working on Jeep.

~9:20 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined when Dusty came back into farmhouse from working on Jeep.

~10:24 p.m. - Bathroom trip without incident. Urine passed. Joyce returned to recliner ~10:35 p.m. and made ready for bed. Joyce complained that her nose was running a lot this evening. Dusty offered an antihistamine when Joyce stated she thought it was due to allergies and Joyce declined the offer. Joyce asked to verify that today was November 1 and then expressed lament that she forgot to call Tim on his birthday today.

Dusty finished reassembling his Jeep and packed up, departing farmhouse ~11:15 p.m. New family care schedule going into effect starting tomorrow. Jess arriving ~9 a.m. to provide morning care for Joyce, Dusty covering ~12:15 p.m. - 1:45 p.m., and Carol providing evening care.
