General Update #217 - Monday, November 16, 2020

9 a.m. - Jess arrived to farmhouse to find Joyce awake in her recliner without oxygen line in place. Joyce was distressed about the family having problems. Jess sat down with Joyce and worked to calm her. Joyce was fuzzy about what had occurred over the weekend regarding two separate accidents involving family members that occurred recently and was concerned with interpersonal interactions between family overall. Joyce was eventually calmed.

9:43 a.m. - Morning medication administered with nutritional shake.

9:50 a.m. - Breakfast (1 slice toast with egg and syrup). Finished at 10:06 a.m.

10:25 a.m. - Bathroom trip without incident. Joyce did not have a diaper pad insert in her diaper. Small amount of blood in the back of her diaper. New diaper and diaper pad insert put onto Joyce. New open wound on her right butt cheek (pressure sore). Jess cleaned it out with wound wash and applied barrier cream.

10:45 a.m. - Joyce given fresh blankets and stretched out to nap in her recliner until Dusty arrives.

1 p.m. - Lunch (1/3 sweet potato with honey and butter). 2 Tylenol. Joyce informed Dusty that she was "surprised that he knew she was here today." Joyce did not know that she was in her own home, believing that she was at Aspen Park and Dusty was a nurse. Joyce wanted to know why the university was sending out people to check on her (she said that she believed they were spying on her for some reason). Joyce did not recognize Dusty.

1:58 p.m. - Joyce asked when she would be going home to the farmhouse. Joyce asked Dusty (who she still did not recognize) if she should put her name in her Redwall book so the staff knew to send it home with her when her son Dusty arrived to take her away from the facility.

2:30 p.m. - Bathroom. Urinary incontinence. Small amount of fecal matter in diaper. Joyce stated that she had soiled herself unexpectedly with flatus. Dusty assisted with cleanup. Joyce became agitated when Dusty attempted to move her into the shower. Dusty unsuccessful in getting Joyce to take a shower for hygiene. Joyce declined PT walk, returning to recliner and began napping.

Dusty ordered a refill on Joyce's carvedilol prescription.

2:40 p.m. - Dusty departed farmhouse to return to campus office.

5:25 p.m. - Dusty arrived to farmhouse to cover for Carol who was out of the area. Dusty checked on Joyce before participating in Zoom meeting with Kenworthy Board of Directors in other room. Craig arrived ~5:35 p.m. to visit Joyce and provide update to Dusty.

Mice discovered to be back in the farmhouse. Dusty will deploy new traps to living room and attic.

8 p.m. - Bathroom trip. Urine passed.
