General Update #326 - Thursday, March 4, 2021

8:03 a.m. - Jess arrived, finding Joyce awake in her recliner without oxygen line in place. Joyce was "thinking about getting up." Joyce reported that she had a bad dream last night. It was not the TV as it was turned off - Dusty's theory that Joyce's reports of nightmares were potentially her meaning she was upset by disturbing images on Netflix shows she is watching not correct.

8:06 a.m. - Bathroom. Urinary incontinence. Diaper and diaper pad replaced. Joyce reported that she does not like the new diapers she is being given to use. Joyce returned to recliner by 8:17 a.m.

8:22 a.m. - BP 160/83, pulse 74. BGL @ 133.

8:26 a.m. - Joyce noticed to be scrunching up her face a lot. When asked by Jess about this, Joyce said that she had something wrong with her head. With prompting and given descriptors to use Joyce says she "has pressure in her head."

8:35 a.m. - Morning medication and nutritional shake.

8:40 a.m. - Breakfast (egg in toast, whole banana). Joyce had to be prompted to keep eating her breakfast as she kept zoning out. Breakfast finished by 9:33 a.m.

9:56 a.m. - Joyce going to nap or color, she cannot decide. Bathroom trip declined.

12:38 p.m. - Dusty arrives to farmhouse. Joyce sleeping lightly, waking quickly upon noticing Dusty walking into room. Television off - Joyce reported that she doesn't know who turned it off when asked.

12:39 p.m. - BP 145/69, pulse 69. BGL @ 170.

Joyce declined bathroom trip, stating that she recently had taken herself to bathroom before Dusty arrived. No evidence Joyce had taken herself to bathroom when Dusty investigated, usual identifiers missing.

12:42 p.m. - 2 Tylenol and cranberry supplement with V8 juice.

12:48 p.m. - Lunch (chicken tenders, watermelon cubes, mac & cheese). Joyce kept falling asleep and had to be continually woken, or Joyce zoned out and stared off into space and had to be focused back onto eating her meal.

Joyce was asked what she wanted to watch on television. Joyce requested Star Trek: The Next Generation. About 10 minutes of an episode played before Joyce objected to it, complaining that it was "too old" to watch. "It's set in the past!" Joyce exclaimed. Dusty asked Joyce what she wanted to watch and began reading titles off to her from the Netflix screen. Joyce zoned out and spent ~20 minutes of non-reaction silence before settling on "the horse people show" Heartland. Dusty loaded this, and the next episode in the queue began. Episode played for approximately 10 minutes before Joyce informed Dusty she wanted something different. Process of selecting different show for Joyce began. NCIS; Star Trek: The Next Generation; Cobra Kai; and several other shows were cycled before Joyce confirmed she wanted the Netflix set back to NCIS to watch while she ate her lunch. Joyce asked for remote, proceeding to hold it in her left hand and wave it about while eating her lunch.

1:45 p.m. - Bathroom trip declined.

Dusty departed farmhouse ~2:09 p.m., needing to return to campus. Joyce left eating her lunch and falling asleep/zoning out in her recliner.

4:45 p.m. - Snack given to Joyce (cheese cake).

4:56 p.m. - Joyce took herself to the bathroom. Diaper pad insert replaced.

7 p.m. - Dinner (small bowl of potato soup with dinner roll). Finished by 7:25 p.m.

7:29 p.m. - Evening medication.

8:17 p.m. - Bathroom. Diaper pad insert replaced.

8:30 p.m. - Joyce's feet elevated in recliner, setup to watch Two Week Notice.
