General Update #352 - Tuesday March 30, 2021

 7:53 a.m. Craig arrived. Joyce seems better to him. Making her way to the bathroom. 

8:17 a.m. Jess arrived. Joyce in bathroom. Joyce trying to clean herself up after bowel movement. Jess helped clean her up. Bowel movement half diarrhea half very soft in texture. applied barrier cream. Back in recliner 8:25 a.m. 

Joyce in a lot of pain. Says her neck hurt on the back and sides. Jess worked with her to figure out exactly how it was hurting and trying to describe the pain. From this it sounded like muscle strain. According to Dusty Joyce was sleeping very oddly yesterday. Jess noticed she was handing her head and almost resting her chin on the right side of her chest. Jess coached her to lean back in her chair and lean her head back. rest her neck. Craig told Jess that Joyce told him that her chest pain was not as bad. When Jess asked Joyce she wanted to rest for a while before answering questions. 

8:31 a.m. BP 147/78     Pulse 88

8:53 a.m. Morning Medication and Equate nutritional drink

9:02 a.m. Breakfast (3 pancakes and banana) While making breakfast Jess asked Joyce about the chest pains. Joyce said it wasn't bad but when asked if she could take deep breaths she replied "I don't want to do that." When asked to explain she said it made it hurt again. 

9:40 a.m. While eating Joyce tried to stash her napkins on the shelves next to her instead of using them. When Jess told her no. She said she wanted to save them because they had a butterfly. When Jess explained that she needed to use them and not kleenex when eating. Joyce got really mad and slammed the napkins back down on her tray and scowled at Jess. A few minutes later Joyce apologized for looking at her so mean. Jess calmed Joyce and quietly explained that she has butterfly napkins so she has pretty napkins to use instead of using kleenex for eating and having them fall apart on her. This calmed Joyce who went back to eating. 

    Joyce soon showed signs of pain while eating. (She furrows her brows and scrunches her face up) When Jess asked she said that her arm hurt when she lifts her fork. When asked to what point on the arm using Jess's arm that it hurts on the arm she pointed to the elbow. It was her right arm. Joyce leaning heavily to the right even handing her head to the right. Jess brought her a thin pillow to prop Joyce up with on that side. Joyce says she just wants to nap. 

9:41 a.m. Jess called and updated Dusty.

10:02 a.m. Joyce cuddled down sleeping. Jess heading out. 

12:39 p.m. Dusty arrived    BP 137/57    Pulse 85    Joyce confused. She thinks she was supposed to babysit a little girl from someone's family. Two little girls, later. Insists it's "for real". "if they don't come in the house , and let me know they are dropping off the little girl, I'm not watching her today." "I don't know her name." "I think she's in the living room."

12:51 p.m. 2 Tylenol + Cranberry supplement.  No neck pain and less chest pain.

1:03 p.m. Bathroom. Urinary incontinence. Remaining urine passed. New diaper and pad. Right knee pain reported. PT walk. Returned to recliner by 1:16 p.m. 

1:23 p.m. Lunch (Turkey & Cheddar sandwich with mayo and mustard, applesauce, and butterscotch pudding cup) Would not stay awake. Dusty left Joyce with food tray. Joyce had not eaten anything by 3:20 p.m.

5:00 p.m. Joyce still has not eaten her lunch but said she was going to try. Cannot stay awake. 

5:11 p.m. Bathroom - dry (No data on urine/bowel movement)

5:30 p.m. Dinner (chicken noodle soup and 4 crackers) 

7:03 p.m. Evening medication

7:10 p.m. Bathroom - dry (No data on urine/bowel movement) Coloring

8:20 p.m. Napping - Bed
