General Update #351 - Monday March 29, 2021

 7:47 a.m. Craig arrived Joyce was in the bathroom. (No data on urine/bowel movement or incontinence issues)

7:56 a.m. Joyce returned to her recliner. 

8:15 a.m. Jess arrived giving brief up date on Joyce. Joyce had chest pains on Sunday. Craig also inquired about the bottle of tramadol since it was not with the other medications. Jess updated him about Dusty ordering the refill but since it is a controlled substance it needs to be approved by Dr. Collins before it is refilled. He said that he thinks "they" gave Joyce more Tylenol yesterday. Jess sat and spoke with Joyce about the chest pains and if she was still having them. Craig said she had reported they (chest pains) were "a lot" better. When speaking with Jess she said it (chest pain) was not as bad as yesterday. With prompting she narrowed it down to the center of her upper chest with no specific side. Both arm were not hurting. Joyce reports a minor headache. She also had some pain in her stomach but couldn't say if it was upper or lower. Joyce was coughing and having sneezing fits. 

Jess relayed the chest pains and other symptoms to Dusty so he could contact the doctor. 

9:20 a.m. Morning medication with Equate nutrition shake

9:30 a.m. Smoothie for breakfast (4 small apples, 2 bananas, baby spinach and juice) Drank the large Coke Cola glass full plus another half. Finished 10:05 a.m.

10:06 a.m. BP 139/75    Pulse 89

10:10 am Bathroom Urinary incontinence. Early bladder release. Took shoes to sanitize and found something dark smashed in one. Possibly fecal matter? Wiped down Joyce's legs and feet with wipes. Joyce very gassy. Having issues passing bowel movement. Jess having to coach Joyce to remember to push not just wait there for it to fall out.  

10:26 a.m. Diarrhea started passing. Still needed coaching as Joyce started to space off or play with her legs and shoes. New diaper and pad. Barrier cream applied to new wound started on the right buttock. (This wound possibly due to excessive wiping when left unattended as it appears on the one side she wipes on). 

10:51 a.m. Back in chair.

11:00 a.m. Miralax given to stay consistent. 

Spoke with Dusty- He spoke with Moscow Medical about Joyce's symptoms. They are wondering if she may have water building up around her lungs. and heart. Due to her cough and sneezing she needs to have a Covid-19 test before going in to the doctor. Dusty will take her through the drive through testing at Gritman later today. 

11:05 a.m. Mom reading newspaper as Jess heads out for the day.

11:47 a.m. BP 117/64     Pulse 75    Blood Glucose 254

11:53 a.m. Bathroom. Joyce soiled herself. Type 6 mucus. Remainder passed. Barrier cream applied. 

12:10 p.m. Dusty taking Joyce to Covid-19 testing site. 

1:16 p.m. Bathroom Dry. Urine passed. Barrier cream applied. PT walk.

1:26 p.m. Lunch (hamburger and applesauce) 2 Tylenol and Cranberry supplement. 

Finished by 2:37 p.m. Bathroom trip refused. 

2:44 p.m. Losartan Reordered.

4:13 p.m. Dusty dropped off Losartan & Tramadol refills and refilled pill cups. 

4:14 p.m. Tramadol administered

4:17 p.m. Bathroom. Urinary incontinence. Early bladder release. Flatus. Remaining urine and bowel movement type 6. Bathroom floor and toilet riser sanitized. New diaper and pad. PT walk. Returned to recliner by 4:37 p.m. Shirts replaced and glasses cleaned. 

4:41 p.m. Set up to nap.

6:00 p.m. Bathroom trip - changed pad (No data on urine/bowel movement)

6:30 p.m. Dinner (pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages) Evening medication.

8:15 p.m. Bathroom trip - dry (No data on urine/bowel movement)

8:30 p.m. Set up for bed

07/24/2020 Dusty missed calling Joyce due to personal schedule conflicts. 07/25/2020 Dusty called in to check with Joyce at 1 p.m. following a training session he attended for Scouts BSA. Lunch today was spaghetti "with a delicious meat sauce," a side of veggies and dessert was vanilla pudding. Joyce confessed that she might not have remembered it had the tray not still been sitting beside her with the remnants of the meal. She had today off from physical therapy but did have speech/mental therapy. She said that some of the questions that the speech therapists ask her are "laughable" because they ask her if she has lived in rural areas and then ask her about what she thinks living in the rural areas are like after already verifying she lives in the country. Dusty suggested that the therapists are trying to use something basic, like knowledge of Joyce living in the country, to then ask questions about living in the country to see how Joyce recalls information or rela...

General Update #95

07/27/2020 Dusty called Joyce to check in and wish her a good night while he was preparing dinner for Jess. Joyce was alert and quite talkative. Dusty reviewed the plan for the telehealth appointment scheduled for tomorrow and Joyce stated that no one had told her that was occurring. Dusty suggested to Joyce that they were going to visit with her tomorrow morning ahead of the appointment based on what Rachael had told him and Joyce concurred. Dusty questioned Joyce about her decline of participating in the urinary incontinence therapy as well as her reported lack of performance with physical therapy. Joyce stated that she had been looking forward to the urinary incontinence therapy work but according to her they only spoke to her once about it and then never again approached her about it.  Joyce felt like they don't do enough PT with her even though she wants to do more PT. General Update #85

Dusty and Jess called Joyce in the evening on July 4 to wish her a happy Independence Day.  Joyce reported that her pain levels were fairly low, even after doing upper body physical therapy work earlier in the day. She was a little disappointed with her meals served. She had been hoping that they would serve hot dogs and potato salad for lunch or dinner but none were to be had. Joyce could not recall what she ate for any of her three meals she was served. At the time of the phone call Joyce had not seen any fireworks out her north facing window but she could hear several concussive blasts of fireworks being set off near Dusty and Jess' apartment.  Joyce said that she did not see or hear the Let Freedom Ring Tour (a B-25 Mitchell, a F-7F Tigercat, a P-47 Thunderbolt, a P40N Warhawk, and a P51D Mustang), which was sponsored by Hangar180 , fly overhead around 5:45 p.m. but she might've missed it most likely owing to having been napping at the time.
